I picked up a used K-line extended vision cupola caboose. It has/had a smoking unit, and it is an older style caboose with just an "on/off" switch on the bottom. I want to remove, or at least electrically disconnect, the smoker so it isn't accidently switched on by mistake and perhaps melt or ruin my caboose. However, no assembly sheet came with the caboose.
Is there an easy way to open up the caboose? Thanks.

Put a piece of electrical tape on the switch to keep it off and save yourself a lot of grief. There is no easy way to open that caboose and it is even harder to put it back together. I tried to replace a burnt out marker light on one and regretted it.
Thanks. I was hoping when it was open to somehow add an electrical "flicker free" circuit at the time but didn't realize how tough it would be.
Good luck with that. K-Line cabooses are almost impossible to disassemble. For example, I had a K-Line NPR bay window caboose that I could not take apart, even with all the screws out. I wanted to replace one of the marker lights that had burnt out. I think K-Line may have glued their caboose bodies to the bases. I gave up and bought another one.
