Missing the trailing 2 wheels, any idea where I can find them! Also not sure this is the correct tender. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Don

First thing - get a GN steam book, or google some photos. One can buy trailing trucks.

I was slightly curious, so that's what I just did:
It looks like this might be a class "H", given the large tender, so I'm guessing it would have a Delta trailing truck...

PICTURE of engine I am modeling. Been looking at Precision scale catalog. Not sure which parts I need to replace trailing trucks? Is there a schematic drawing showing the parts I need? Right now I am guessing I need 9068 kit and side frame 4359 from Precision scale. Any other source for parts? I questioned the tender since it had plastic side frames on the trucks. Hard to believe this brass engine would have plastic on the trucks. Thanks

Again, I don't know too much about GN power; but the tender in your prototype photo doesn't look like the type your model has...(?) Did the 1700 class use the Vanderbilt type?

You can also look at Stevenson Preservation Lines for parts.
I would be very surprised if those tender trucks are original Overland has been a High End brass importer for years, and It does not sound like one of their products to have plastic tender trucks. In my opinon, they either been replaced, or that is not a brass tender.
Another weird thing is that the tender appears to have a factory paint job and the loco is unpainted. that does not make sense either.
Is it possible that the tender is from one of the 3 rail mfg and has a diecast body with brass details applied?
Tender is brass but someone has replaced the original brass trucks with cheap ones! Will the delta trailing truck kit fit this engine? Also what are these parts in the picture? Thanks

If not initially, I bet you can make it "fit".
Guess you might have to "take a chance", so to speak...

Occasionally you will have to take a chance on parts if you don't already have what you need. Things can be adapted to fit and made to work and look presentable. Unless your goal is to build a dead ringer for a particular prototype, you can have a reasonably appearing and good running locomotive without having to go parts crazy. In a forum environment nobody will judge your efforts beyond a passing comment unless you completely botch the project...and that's not likely. If you like it that's really all that matters. Have fun with it.

The Sioux City Railroad Museum has the GN 1355 an H-5 class. it's on Facebook and you will have to look for it a bit as the museum has been closed for a while due to corona.

GN 1355 in Sioux city looks great! This Fall I am heading to Nebraska and if Museum is open I will stop by. I see it is painted the Glacier scheme, which I plan on painting mine. Thanks for all the info! Don
