Being still somewhat new to O Gauge, I need help/advice. My "brand new" 2020 that I got a couple weeks ago at a show had an unfortunate incident with my concrete basement floor and I bent a couple of axles, one on the front pilot and one on the rear truck. Easier just to replace the entire wheelset? Where do I get those? While I am at it, I also have a nice gunmetal grey 1664E prewar that has the same problem on the front pilot (was that way when I got it)...bent axle. Are those Lionel axles/wheelsets all pretty interchangeable? I think it might have damaged that little plate that goes between the wheelset and the truck body too. Need an expert on this to educate me and suggest parts vendor and/or course of action, please. Thanks!

True them back up, ….pop off the wheel, slide out the axle, stick the axle in a drill, and keep bending & tweaking till it spins true again,…..it’s totally doable, …..some trucks all you need to do is slightly spread them, and the wheel set will fall out…

In my case USPS did it for me! 😄
I have also had good luck straightening axles by placing them vertically in a vise and closing the jaws tight to take the "bend" out. Loosen a little and turn the axle a little and close again. Repeat as needed until the axle is straight and test in the drill.
Ok I will give it a go using a vise or a drill. I might try the vise first. Appreciate the help, gents!
