Hi All,

I was working on a friends 4-6-0 (TEXAS & PACIFIC LEGACY 4-6-0 #316 SKU: 2131120) because the rear engine pickups were loose.  I fixed that no problem (the screw under the motor was loose).  But I made the mistake of not taking a picture of where the antenna was plugged in and I can't find anything from Lionel (or the web) about this board (or engine).

Here is the picture of the Board (691-LCP3-A00):

The only plugs it fits in are 1-5.  They are labled:

  1. SPKR
  2. SER1
  3. FCOUP
  4. RCOUP
  5. Not Labeled

So because I don't want to mess up the engine, if anyone has any input where I plug in the antenna, that would be of big help!

Thanks in advance.

By logical deduction, I'd say it's #5.

It's certainly not the speaker, serial data, or either of the couplers.  You shouldn't hurt anything plugging it in the wrong one if there's only one wire to the antenna.  If there's two wires, then you need to be a bit more circumspect, that could damage the board if the two pins are connected together.  However, if the two antenna handrails are run independently to the connector and isolated, it won't hurt anything either.  Also, if the two handrails run separately to the connector, just measure the resistance between the two pins on each of the possible connectors.  The one with a short between the pins is the antenna connection.

That's what I thought too, but everytime I tried it and put the shell back on, there was a short and wanted to make sure (was doing it before the post).  After doing the resistance test, I confirmed that it went in receptical 5.  So I looked elsewhere for the short and it kinda looked like it was the light harness, but it actuall wasn't.  Since the short did not happen when the shell was off, I looked more around the harnesses and the culpret of the short was a crimped (bare) wire that I taped up and that fixed everything.

Thanks for your help.
