Hoping for some help here. I'm trying to install the scale pilot on an Atlas F3 and am running into difficulty. Have removed the original but don't know if the mounting 'post' (a rectangular metal piece attached to the truck frame needs to come off or not. Am not familiar with the nice scale coupler (Kadee?) attached to the new pilot. Is it operational with the existing wiring? There are no instructions with the engine so I'm shooting in the dark here guys!

I think that mounting piece comes off but to be sure I would contact AtlasO. That is why once you do it you can't remount the three rail coupler.
The scale coupler is not operational
Have tried contacting Atlas but no answer - everyone there at York?
Certainly SOMEONE here has changed out one of these?
Sam: I remember mounting the scale coupler on my B&M F-3 when it first arrived. I ran into the same issue and eventually trimmed the truck mounting block enough to let the front truck swivel past the coupler box assembly.
Mine is still packed up after my move this year; if I can locate it, I'll try and send you a picture. Bottom line, I couldn't find a way to mount it without the trim procedure. Hope that helps....

Sam; Sorry for the above pictures, they are actually S-Helper service "S" models. Attached is the correct Atlas"O" F-3 with fixed front pilot.
