I’m hoping that some of the more techno-savvy members can give me some advice…

I have purchased a new Base3, but haven’t installed it yet (but have been following all the great info here on the forum). My current Cab2 setup has a Sensor Track as the first module in a chain of 3 LCS Modules, so it connects to the Legacy Base via the DB9 connector. Since the Base3 doesn’t have a DB9 connection, I am wondering if I can disconnect the DB9 cable from the Legacy Base and then run a PDI cable from the last module in the chain directly to the Base3 which would make the Sensor Track the last module in the chain???  I’m desperately trying to avoid ripping up the sceniced track around the Sensor Track!!!

Thanks in advance.

That should be ok.  I would make sure you isolate the 9 pin connector some how (tape over it) to avoid any accidental shorting of the pins.  The only issue I can see is the Sensor Track has on some setups induced noise which required a filter be plugged into the PDI buss.  This might be the only issue that would crop up.  The symptoms was recordings dropping and sporadic operation.
