hello, I am preparing my polar express layout expansion for around the Christmas tree this year.  I did a rough mockup of a 3 to 3.5 ring helix that goes from 4.5" tall to 7.5" tall and then 9" at the end of the 30" straight to exit the helix.  Interested in any opinions regarding if the final spiral is too steep a climb for the original polar express conventional (the non lion chief).

The outer ring is o48 and it goes inwards to 036

Also, will there be any issues when the curves go directly from 031 to 060 to 036IMG_0626IMG_0629IMG_0630IMG_0631

thanks in advance

I'm sorry to tell you this but the original Polar Express starter set's engine had a really small motor in it. I have one and my biggest complaint is that the engine can not pull all of the add on cars I bought for it on a flat loop of track.

It is my guess that it may pull it's self up the loop but I really doubt if it could handle more then one or two cars, if that!

Please let us know how it works out.
