I am hoping to do some command and sound upgrades by using one of ERR's commander boards for cruise control. However, for the sounds, instead of using a RS Commander I want to use some Lionel RS 4.0 boards.

I am loosely following this thread as guidance and have assembled the following order:

691RSPRA00 - RAILSOUNDS POWER BOARD / UNIVERSAL
691PCB1102 - RAILSOUNDS 4.0 / SOUTHERN 4-8-2 #1491
691MB0015B - MOTHERBOARD (ALT: 691MB0015A)

Before I buy, is this everything I need from Lionel to make the appropriate sound upgrade? Will everything fit/wire together correctly? The aforementioned thread recommended a powered motherboard but these appear to be out of stock at Lionel. The universal RS Power board is all they have. Looking up "motherboard" on the Lionel parts website shows dozens of different motherboards, so I decided to go with one that was mentioned in the thread. Is there a better board in stock that I should use instead?

Thanks so much for reading.

They have this powered motherboard, makes the job easier and more compact.

691PMB2101     POWERED MOTHERBOARD / RAILSOUNDS (OBSOLETE)         $45.00

Ignore the obselete, they're all obsolete.  This one is similar to the old ERR RailSounds Commander.  For all the differences, see my description in this thread from a few years ago, search is your friend here.

Thank you John, I saw that board but dismissed it when I saw "obsolete". This will save some money also! Thank you again!
