I just purchased an MTH PRR Premier N-8 caboose.  The item No. on the box is 20-91098. The caboose has a road number 478171 and is designated as Pittsburgh Region.  It also has a black cupola (with yellow) and radio antenna.

However I also have another caboose that I purchased years ago with similar paint but with road number 478108. This caboose is shown on the MTH website.

I cannot find a listing on the MTH website that shows this car with road number 478171.

I am not sure what you are asking.  But I to have this cabin car #478171 from a box numbered 20-91098.  The website omission is most probably just that, an omission.

Can also tell you that a cabin numbered 478171 with yellow cupola sides did prototypical exit.  It is pictured in one of the Pennsy equipment color picture guides.

Many of MTH's separate sale cars, including most of the PRR cabin cars (no such thing as a "caboose" on the PRR) came in two different numbers even though the catalog only showed one car.  I have several cabin cars, hoppers and boxcars where a single car and road number are shown in the catalog but they arrived in the hobby shop in two packs (separate boxes with a clear plastic wrap holding the two car boxes together.

Thanks for this information. Now I know that there are at least 2 paint variations for this MTH model number.  Since I collect PRR N-8s I would like to know if there are other such "undocumented" N-8 variations. I am now trying to find more N-8s that came with Premier car and engine sets. I will post my list of Pennsy N-8s in my collection after I compile the list. Are there any other PRR N-8 collectors who have extra PRR N-8s for sale?  I have several duplicates in my collection.  Note: I do not collect the Penn Central or Conrail versions.
