This system has power provided from two PH135's using the provided Lionel Cable Set (6-14194) to one TPC 400 and then doubled to the second TPC 400. Power out from each TPC 400 is an input to each of (2) BPC's. The (4) outputs of each BPC provides (8) power districts, with (8) 7.5 amp fuses, one for each power district.
Either TPC can be conventional or command. The BPC's allow for both a conventional and command operation on separate tracks at the same time. I use TR #1 and TR #9 for the TPC addresses.
I'm having trouble assigning a track # to my second TPC on the saem Legacy. How does the Legacy know what the #2 TPC is. I see only 1 wire coming out of the Legacy. I tried daisy chaining from TPC # 2 to TPC # 1 with the one wire from The Legacy going to #1 TPC. I can't program #2
The legacy does not see TPC #2
I have a separate POwer supply for each TPC , but I don't know how to connect the Legacy to the second TPC so I can program it
Thanks
You may have to program and set the TPC address in TMCC mode. Note the Command base in the picture. I don't have Legacy. It does work with the command base/ Cab1 where the Com/Dat wires are daisy chained from one TPC to the Other.
You can see the (6-14191) Lionel cable from the Command base hooked to the Dat/Com terminals of the Right TPC in this picture. I then used Cat 5 data/telephone twisted pair wire to daisy chain all the TMCC devises.
There is a blue/blue white Cat5 24 gauge twisted pair wire from the Right TPC to the Left TPC and then additional green/green white cable to other devices.
Note the Green/green white and Blue/blue white twisted pairs wires that daisy chain between these (2) BPC's and then on to other devices.
First, a suggestion to anyone using TPCs. Unscrew the two screws for the terminals labeled Aux- and Aux+ AND THROW THE SCREWS AWAY!!! Several of the TPCs that I have repaired for folks have damage to the (useless) AUX circuit, and that kills the operation of the normal DAT and COM inputs.
When you say you have only one wire, do you mean one wire, or one cable with 2 wires? You need 2 wires from the 9-pin on the Base to DAT and COM on the TPC.
On hte Legacy there is the compute hookup cable and then 1 wire which is to connect to either the track itself or the TPC. I have it hooked to the #1 TPC. Track #1 runs okay, I just can't see how the Legacy knows which TPC to program
It knows because of the ID assigned to it when you set the PGM/RUN switch to PGM on the one you're programming. Page 9 of the user's manual.
