David,

I talked with our Lionel distributor Tuesday and he said they were on the loading dock, they were getting ready to ship to us. Unfortunately Lionel obviously has a pecking order of who gets items shipped first. You often get boned if you are not a top ten dealer. (frustrated)

Seriously... between a few select pre-order commitments along with all the great deals being offered nowadays -- whether it's here on the forum or directly from dealers, I find that I'm purchasing less and less AT train shows anymore.  York has become more a social time to catch up with old and new friends, and check in with the various importers to see what's in the works.  Also a good time to talk with Dunham Studios, TW Trainworkx, Millers Engineering and Woodland Scenics -- all companies I'll be purchasing goods from when building my layout.  So aside from the social angle of York, the event has evolved into more of a "trade show" for me rather than the "super train meet" of yesteryear.
