Hennings YLB and my Milwaukee Road S-3

Track power comes into the sound board at the indicated connector, the bottom lead should be the center roller.  I'd check it with a meter, but presuming that's the power wire, splice into that one.

OK, I'll check it out. Not sure I have a meter to check with, but I'll see.

You can get a meter for free lots of times at Harbor Freight.  It's not a Cadillac, but it's certainly sufficient for this task.  They normally sell for $6, not exactly a King's Ransom.

I looked at the wires again on the S-3 and silly me forgot about splicing into the other trucks pick up roller. This would also make the red lead wire from the YLB long enough to do the job. Is this OK to splice in there? I will send photos. The wires from the pick up roller are black and gray. One screw right above the roller is the black roller, the other gray goes to the other screw, maybe this is the ground. (?)

You just have to tie the wire into the center roller.  Lots of places in the tender to grab it.  The gray wire is the center roller as a rule.

I just installed the YLB in my Visionline Challenger and would like to give a big thumbs up. No more worries about batteries leaking. Works great and the sound does not drop out on one of my switches anymore. Now I need to find money for a few more.
