Heroclix scale versus other figures

Yep, I made two orders, I thought they were great figures, especially since about 90% of what I got was either 59 cents or 69 cents!  I have about 150 Heroclix figures.  I mixed in a few of the superheros, but most are the "everyday Joe" kind of figures that will be more useful on the layout.

Yes, thanks very much for the idea John!  This is definitely a great price to fill up a layout.

It wasn't my idea originally, but I seized on it when it was presented!

I think the 1:48 - 1:50 Heroclix and other figures look best in our 1:48 scale building scenes with 1:48 trains.

Western Hobbycraft Trolly, Ameritowne buildings and mix of Heroclix and Bachmann figures.

What search words have you used to find those "everyday" looking figures? All I see on e-bay are superhero's, monsters, all sorts of alien types.

Truthfully, I just waded through the listings looking at the figures and picked out what looked more normal.  I spend a little time and removed them from the base so they're ready to use.

Yeah Paul, what John said. Up at the top, Dave linked to the other topic "Cheap Painted Figures" that I had talked about on the Frankenstein post. The link John posted was over on that topic. I believe if you look on the Heroclix website, they probably give a great breakdown. On the blog(the link John posted here), there is a better breakdown on how some figures are much larger than others(I think that it applies moreso to the superheroes). It's been a while since I looked on their site, I'll have to do that again.

I did two purchases of the figures. I took the time to wade through the website. I've attached two photos and two text files of the ones I bought. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips and lists on these figures. I missed this original post, and Dave was kind enough to link it to my other inquiry on Frankenstein figures. Does anyone know the name of the figure in John's photo - the figure is wearing a yellow overcoat and blue suit...looks like Dick Tracy?

It's a lot of searching for these, but the plus side is some, not all, of these figures can be had for a fair price. They seem to have a following and some have a collector value - the Frankenstein monster is going for $20, in new condition.

I purchased 130 figures that are mostly every day citizen types for $92.91 pus shipping of $4.99 for a total cost of $97.90 from www.TrollandToad.com , 250 American Greeting Card Road, Corbin, KY 40701. Phone 1-859-280-3235. At less than a buck apiece, they are a bargain. You do have to spend a lot of time looking for appropriate figures, but I think it is time well spent because of the variety.  Some of them can be modified or painted to make them more usable. Remember that you do not need figures that come with the Cards, and there are multiple offerings of the same figures at lower prices. Hope you find what you are looking for.
