Recent TV show ("Tricked Out Trains") documented this car's VERY $$$$$$ restoration. It takes deep pockets to own and operate one of these gems, and I am personally glad there are those that are able to save these cars!

Recently saw a TV show about the restoration of this famous Observation Car. One of the nicest in existence.

Tom,  I think these cars are in a shed most of the time. I travel that road fairly often and it's not often these guys outside.

Both of these cars were part of the "Parade of Trains" at Grand Central Terminal's 100th Anniversary Celebration in March 2013.

These $$$$$$ restored cars are treated VERY CAREFULLY by their owners, who have a significant investment in them! 

The owners and their painstakenly restored cars belong to a rather EXCLUSIVE club! 

Hickory Creek has had some interesting adventures since it graced the end of the 20th Century Limited.  I believe it was once owned by Ringling Brothers and was also used on the American Orient Express plus some others.  

I think that restoration to its original 20th Century colors is the best.  I hope that this owner and future owners keep this tradition.

Hey Skip, I passed by there the other day. You can see most of the equipment, now that the leaves are gone, just rotting away. Some of the best stuff was saved for the New jersey Transportation Museum that that never happened. What shame.
