We had a new Walmart super store built with a lot of land around. Seing another building going up, I figured Sam's was going to expand next. Now I notice a sign saying it's going to be a Hobby Lobby store. It looks huge. Any trains?? Joe

Hi Joe,
We have one near us and they do have some stuff from Woodland Scenics and the lower end of Lionel cars and some HO. But mostly it's like a Michaels or an AC More, though you might find something you can use so it might not be a total loss.

I find them good for some scenery or craft supplies.
The one near me has Alumilite casting materials, some K&S brass stock air brush parts, masking materials and Testors paints. They have really cut back on the trains in the last 18 months. I use their 40% off one item internet coupon whenever I go.

This sounds cool. At least I finally give casting a shot. I used to cast high temp ceramics so I've got the basics. Thanks guys, Joe
I use them for acrylic paints for scenery and weathering, and sometimes I can find
scale wood I need....plus glue and Testor's. This one is very heavy on artist's materials. The only other hobby shop in this once important mfg. city is at the other end of the county and their thing is mostly airplanes and whatever you call these radio controled vehcile models. They do carry some trains and will order stuff, but it is not Caboose Hobbies.
All the hobby stuff is at the back of this, and others I have visited, Hobby Lobby big box store so you need a Segway through all the jimcracks to get to it. I don't think
the one I have most often visited has any trains.
They stopped with train stuff about two years ago. They order in some for Christmas. They do have a lot of other things that are useful. Air brushes, plaster, paint brushes, craft paint metal shapes, and many other items that a modeler can make use of.
