Monroe is "pretty slim pickings". Like a lot of us you will have to buy most things online. You may occasionally go to Shreveport or Vicksburg for common supplies. The advertisers on this forum are a good place to start.  Before you move stock up on all the little things you will need to run  your trains it is expensive to buy a$1.00 part online. Good luck.

conrail5065,

Ryan buddy you are in for a real culture shock moving to Monroe, LA.  The kids in my Slidell, La  Coin De Lestin neighborhood were very disappointed when I moved back north to New England, to finish the NASA Space Shuttle MMU project.   I had a big time Christmas train layout each year for them to see and run.  Use to be a real nice hobby shop in New Orleans, but it was destroyed in the last Hurricane, doubt the old man rebuilt it.  TP Fan is absolutely correct, you will have to do your purchasing on line for most everything, and your O Gauge interface/fix, will definitely be right here on the OGR once you move to Monroe.
