Fred's Train shop on 80th St. in downtown Overland Park. Frank's Train Shop at 155th and Metcalf. HO & N at Show Me Model Railroad on Main St. in Grandview. More HO & N at Doc's Caboose located in the bottoms. All excellent places!

There are two train shops in the southern part of the metro area that do a nice job with O gauge. They are Fred's Train Shop near old Overland Park and Frank's Train Shop further south at 151st and Metcalf.
If you haven't already been there, you might want to head downtown to Union Station. I haven't been there in about a year, but at the north end of the old waiting room there is a gallery that holds a number of operating layouts- several of them are O gauge. You can also watch a good quantity of the 1:1 scale trains from the bridge that is accessible just to the left of the gallery.

There is a nice shop in the West Bottom area. Forgot the name.
Google it. Do yourself a huge favor. Go to see the trains. KC has a huge number of trains. Go to the Santa Fe Interlocking. go !!! You'll thank me. Check out my KC train photos at:
Fred's Train Shop in Overland Park is a real nice Store. He has a lot of "O" Gauge in addition to all the other gauges. Fred himself owns the place and is a real nice person to deal with. Try it, you'll like it!!!
