I am trying to determine if the Horseshoe Curve itself is open right now.
It's hard to tell from the website, which seems to focus on the Railroaders Museum (closed for the season).
Can anyone provide info?
Thanks,
George
At the bottom of the official site for the museum/curve is a link labeled "Hours". Click on that and you'll see that the curve is closed for the season.
While the visitor's building and funicular are closed for the late fall & winter, there are steps from parking up to the fenced trackside viewing area. Does anyone know if they are closed off as well? My bones still remember the chill from climbing the old uneven steps with snow on them many years ago. Seeing trains on The Curve in the snow was really neat. Glad I did it once - wouldn't do it twice!

Thanks to all who replied. I did do a check of the Hours and did see that the site was closed, but wondered about a way up. I was thinking along Ed's lines - that despite the funicular being closed, there might be a legal and legitimate way up to the curve.
