how can we run DCS and Lionchief remote run together on same track...

Put the Lionel set on your track.

 

That's all there is to it.

Let me indicate my concerns:

The DCS track has 18 volts on it when we run the PS-2 engines.

If I plug in the remote wart in wall outlet, wouldn't the track now have 36 volts?  I assume I would operate the DCS PS-2 engines with the DCS remote, but how would I operate the Lionchief set?

You do NOT use the LionChief power supply at all, leave it in the box!  The 18 volts on the track is all it needs.  The LionChief communicates directly with the locomotive with an RF signal.

You should have the correct power, don't know about any other malfunctions.

 

I've been running it for weeks. The only caveat is, if you leave it on the track, without running it, for a while, the lionel circuitry will shut down. It wont start, even though the headlight is on and it looks like it should run. You will need to cycle track and rc controller power, to regain control of the pe. Lionel says this is normal. I connected the loop, with the pe to a variable out, so I could cycle track power, without shutting g down the whole tiu.

Thanks everyone!  I tried it and it works fine on the DCS layout.  It is nice to have so many options in being able to run the train.

Appreciate your help and again work on having a great year!  I, personally, am elated, as a year ago I wasn't able to walk.  Had a shunt put in my brain and I now have my life back.  Think I am not enjoying each minute...

My brain needs something, but I'm not sure a shunt would help.   Glad you are on the mend.

No it only runs the train.It doesn't communicate with anything else
