How do I put O scale couplers on my Lionel Acela?

Hi there. I bought the Lionel Polar Express Acela expansion pack, and I would like to replace the drawbar couplers with O scale couplers so I can connect it to the Lionel heavyweight Polar Express passenger cars. Does anyone here know how to pull off such a feat?
