I have been using Woodland scenic colors mixed with water. I make 16 ounce batches at a time. I store the mixes in 20 ounce water bottles. Question is how long do you keep the mix if you don't use it up for awhile before dumping it. I have been using tap water................Paul

I usually dilute with water or Testors Airbrush thinner and try to use all that was prepped for the air brush. I seldom return paint that has been made air brush ready to the original bottle. I find that a lot of the acrylic paints, that I use, seem to have a shelf life once opened. Even though I clean the bottle tops and closure caps before returning to the shelf, remaining paint after long periods is not the same. IMO

Thanks for that info Mike. I should of added to my post I was using the mixed colors to do leopard spotting with foam applicators. I shake the bottle first before pouring some into a cup to use. I was just wondering how long before the water turns nasty, not that I have had some sitting for a long time so far. Paul
