How many have done it?

How many have married/joined Lionel/K-line 027 gauge tubular track with Lionel/K-line 0 gauge switches? I realize that there would be a difference in height and that a shim of some sort would probably be necessary...but are there any other complications that would have to be dealt with...such as pin size, etc.?

If possible, I would like to attempt it...but, also would like to know first if it would be a match made in heaven...and not end up in divorce court!!!

Idid that years ago. I mated the 0-27 to the full O by grinding down one end of a Lionel O gauge track pin. It worked fine until I changed over to all "O" gauge track.

I had a series of long anti-derails, and blocks on one stretch about 8' long. Screwed down, and using wires, there were no pins. Just eyeball alignment. An extra tie from old track added onto the track ends, helps keep the rails from slipping in their tabs, and sliding into each other.
