About a month ago I picked up a Railking 2-6-0 loco. I got it cheap because it had a 3 clank problem. I Used a chip to get the three clanks out of loco and that was good. This loco still wouldn't move I even tried switching out the top and bottom proto 1 boards but it still would move. I removed motor and gave the motor voltage and it started to run. I find out that the axles are binding and motor could move it. I tried WD40 and working the wheels and I still can't get it to move freely. Is there any way to get lubrication to the axles?

Syringe. WD-40 isn't a good long term lubricant. Try Mobil #1 Synthetic Oil.

What John said. But first I would take the loco apart, remove the motor, and see if the wheels / drive rods will rotate freely. A needlepoint oiler will help you get oil to the bearings where the axles meet the chassis.
Some of these early 2-6-0s were "sidewinders" with a small motor mounted transversely in the chassis. On those you can probably turn the wheels with the motor connected. Some pics might be helpful here.
You need to start by finding out why the wheels won't turn. You can't oil your way out of binding rods or the like. Top suspect is a rod binding, or perhaps a wheel slipped on an axle and the wheels are out of quarter. In any case, you need to identify the problem before you worry about lube.
Are you trying to move the wheels by hand with the motor connected to them? If so then the wheels not moving is normal. Most MTH locomotives do not have back driveable gear sets, so the wheels will only turn if the motor turns them. This is in contrast to Postwar Lionel locomotives which had back driveable gear sets (i.e. turning the wheels will turn the motor armature).

Lou, did you read the first post? He also indicates that the wheels are binding even without the motor installed.

The motor isn't connected its removed I also undone screws from drivers and is still tight.
Only one set of wheels is driven by the motor, the others are driven by the rods. If you've removed the rod screws from the wheelset that is driven by the motor and that wheelset still binds, that could get ugly! First off, clean out ALL the grease in the gearbox and see if anything looks amiss there. It's just one gear on the axle, so it's not a big deal to inspect.

I assumed that meant that the poster applied voltage to the motor and it moved the wheels as he said the "motor could move it". I though what the poster meant was that the wheels would move with the motor running but were stuck when they tried to move them by hand. So my bad.
It wasn't exactly clear, but I think we're at the bottom of it now, the axle is binding.
Thank you all for the help. I found out that this was probably dropped. I measured the width on all the axles and the 2 outer axles were to far in so I pulled them out and everything is good. This loco smokes like crazy. Too bad you cant limit the amount of smoke. Thanks again
You can limit the smoke, crank the smoke pot down in conventional or set the smoke volume in command mode.
John this is a proto 1 didn't know I could do anything like that.
Well, with PS/1, you can't. Of course, since we didn't have a model number, there's no way of knowing what you have.
