I was considering the application of the Lionel roller pickup assemblies to each of the Weaver trucks on this caboose, solder the wire leads to both roller pickups and led light the caboose and also add a flashing red led to the roof end of the caboose. Seeking advice if anyone on the Forum has applied this procedure of applying the Lionel roller pickup assembly to the Weaver plastic truck assembly. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Use an led with a battery - long life - then, the hard part is finding or making a place for the switch
One or two 3mm warm white LEDs should be plenty with this ready to go setup
You could also get the ready to go flashing red LED 3 volt 1.8mm slow flash That will fit in a lantern Although a caboose had solid lanterns red when going forward and white when the train was backing up.

NO it's not!
Of course, with track power, you'll never have to diddle with batteries again, I find it's worth the extra trouble.
One of these companies should offer trucks with pickup rollers on them already and make them readily available. Would be nice.

How's does show a location for a switch?
It's the same product links that were provided.

Nick, Atlas offers pre-wired caboose trucks with pick-up rollers...and they are very nice! I haven't tried to install them on a Weaver caboose like the OP is asking about, so I'm not sure what would be involved.
I have, however, used the Atlas trucks on MTH cabooses as a replacement for the non-prototypical, high-riding (and IMO, downright hideous-looking!) "stock" trucks that they used to put on their bay-window and extended-vision caboose models.
I also added one of the small push-button switches from Evan Designs (referenced via the link in Moonman's post above) to the MTH wiring circuit to give me the ability to turn the interior lights on or off. See photos below. Very easy to mount to the underframe and extremely well concealed!

I may have a set of the Weaver trucks with pickups if you chose to go that way.
For my MTH cabooses, I use MTH trucks, since it's a zero cost option.

Now THAT is funny, GRJ...I like your sense of humor! I edited my post above to be more specific about why I would use Atlas caboose trucks to replace the "zero-cost" stock ones on an MTH caboose.
Some of us here on the Forum just can't stand the high-riding, non-prototypical trucks that MTH used to put on some of its caboose models. But hey, to each his own. Keep smiling!
Gotta' keep smiling, life's not fun if you don't do that.
Some of the selections of trucks on various pieces of rolling stock, including cabooses, sometimes don't make much sense, can't disagree with that.
The Weaver Northeastern caboose will be modified for the AtlasO caboose trucks with the roller pickups, the Weaver trucks and couplers removed can be used as spare replacements for the Weaver freight cars. I have a AtlasO EL bay window caboose, took this caboose apart to see how the trucks were installed to the caboose floor, this same method to be applied to the Weaver Northeastern Caboose, should be an easy modification, lighting to be led. Thanks for all responses!
