I know this has been covered, but I could use a heading under the tech banner reminding me how to quote something without getting all of the pics or words thanks

like this : quote and delete
But that takes effort. There was just a FS reply that copied all the pictures and then said "email sent". There should be a requirement to read the rules before replying, or at least read the RED TEXT!
I saw that 'reply' too John and was tempted to comment. Thanks for beating me to it!

Do Reply With Quote, then delete what you don't want within the quoted text box.
Then type your reply below the quoted text box, so you do not mix your text in with the quote and therefore make it hard to decipher who said what.
The below is an image(of this post, less this last paragraph), hopefully making it clear.

This is becoming a problem. I think people simply do not understand that the REPLY WITH QUOTE button is NOT how you reply to a post. Just click the big, blue "Post Reply" button at the bottom to reply to a post.
The process that Dave 45681 described above is the way to do it.
Another tip is to understand what the <> Source code icon on the taskbar does. That allows you to "fix" stuff if something goes awry in the editing process. You can't always fix it in the WYSIWYG display mode. The quotes are a particular example, sometimes you can't get out of the quote box if you delete the last character of a quote.
The <> is what I usually use too. I know just enough about html (or whatever they call it today) to be dangerous. You can totally fix or completely hose up anything (or everything) in there. And after that you can always start over...
