I've just purchased two Lionel TMCC steamers that have been on my wish list for a while now (Lionel Pennsylvania M1a and J1a) for a very reasonable price. The seller has upgraded them with EOB, and I was just wondering how well they operate under Legacy control. If they're actually not compatible, the locomotives' original Odyssey boards were included as part of the sale and I can always convert them back to stock. I'm tempted to do this anyway as I'm an originality freak but I'm tentatively assuming they'll be superb runners. Thanks in advance for your input guys

TMCC engines that have EOB upgrades usually have four chuffs per revolution which is a real plus in my opinion.  The only problem I have is the delay built into the EOB combined with the delay built into the Legacy control (ramp up to speed) causes more delay in response than I like but I have gotten pretty used to it.

If I were you, I would certainly run them for several weeks before I made any changes,

Hope you enjoy your new purchases.
