His credentials look good other than the fact that he worked for Lennox. Lennox
is where Gary Moreau came from.
Gary came from Onedia
Bill Bracey came from Lenox.
My mistake. Thank you for correcting me.
My hunch is we will get to know more about him.
I thought Jerry was doing a great job. Sorry to see him go of course I don't have access to their financials. But marketing wise I thought he did better than the predecessors.
Actually, JC is not being "let go." He's leaving voluntarily, retiring from Lionel - his choice. In fact, he had planned and wanted to leave at an earlier date, but for various reasons the time is now.
So many different and conflicting reports ... most of which are wrong ... it's not even funny.
The truth will be revealed tomorrow, Wednesday, at the TCA National Toy Train Museum in the afternoon when Lionel makes their presentation.

Even if Jerry were to retire as CEO, he still owns a big chunk of the Lionel

It would be awfully nice if folks could just wait one more day for a Lionel announcement rather than speculate and have those speculations circulated, misinterpreted, and misunderstood.
If you can't attend the Lionel presentation at the TCA Museum tomorrow, I imagine someone from the forum will be on hand and will be able/willing to provide a report sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Is there a real source for this rumor, or did it come from someones pet goldfishes' psychic? My crystal ball is not working today and the genie is on sabbatical.

I guess they didn't get my resume.

Well You , Charlie and a few others have chummed the waters enough with the "I have a big secret but I can't tell" comments the last month or so, the speculation is a fun way to respond
Bazinga!

With my LHS Lionel sales nowhere near previous levels and Lionel seemingly expanding, certainly not contracting over that same period, their legacy costs must now be through the roof.
Only thing that surprises me is how he lasted as long as he did.

Bazinga to you, too!
I never speculated about anything. I wrote--now and then--that there would be a Lionel announcement made at the TCA Museum on Wed. afternoon of York week. I have no inside knowledge of the specific content of that announcement.
Well the agenda of the Grandstand meeting says we will be meeting Lionel's new management team so there must be some truth to the rumors....that or they are really excited to introduce us to the new switchboard operators

Heard it directly from Mike Reagan during a conversation last fall.
But in fact, JC has said for years - and it is quite well known - that he wanted his time at Lionel to be limited.

I'm sure I'll see you there, Marty, especially if you're going to be at Fridays on Thursday, but likely even before that event.
I'll be wandering around throughout the day Thursday, but I imagine our paths will cross somewhere in the halls or on the grounds as we attempt to find some place to lighten our wallets (actually, I have zero on my list this time).
Safe travels to you!
You and the crew are always welcomed to stick your head in the LUG meeting, even just to say hi!

I'll do my best to take you up on that, Marty. Our OGR group usually has a pre-meet breakfast at the same location to discuss stuff related to the previous day's activities and the current day's plans, but I may be able to drop by to say hello at some point before the LUG meeting breaks up.
Will Howard Hitchcock be there? I have not yet met the gentleman.
I know but cant say.

I can see it now Hitchcock presents the new Lionel catalog.

its still fun to speculate as long as you realize it's only speculation. Living here in buffalo ny, especially around hockey trade deadline, you should see all the crazy trade scenarios and rumors. It's fun to be a fan. I can't wait for the lionel announcement, what ever it is, For now my imagination can run wild
