While making an unplanned visit to my local hobby shop I came face to face with something I knew I didn't need. Something I knew would not fit in with anything on my layout. I tried to walk away, and I did...3 steps. Then I took one off the shelf & took it to the check out counter.

One side was Campbell & one side was Brier Hill - Youngstown Sheet & Tube. A pretty nice Lionel Car special edition that supports a local charity.
I don't know what I will do with it, but I am sure somewhere it will find a home in my collection, without much trouble...

Roger,

Does the shop have a web site, or take photo orders?

My great grandfather was in the engendering department at YS&T in the 1930's before going to Youngstown Steel Door, would be nice to have this little piece of YS&T on the layout. I remember the shock my parents and grandparents had in Sept of 1977 when YS&T began the de-industrialization of the valley, first of the dominos to fall, even has a young kid this was big news.

Best,

Jason

They do-
But, out of respect to the forum advertisers, I don't want to post it as he is not a site sponsor. I am, willing to email it to you.

I received my YS&T ore car (a little piece of home) this morning.  Must thank Roger for starting this thread and posting pictures otherwise I would have had no knowledge that this existed.  It is a special car by Lionel for the Catholic War Vets charity.  This will make a great companion to my YS&T slag car set that Lionel offered about a decade ago.  This will become part of my "steel train" pulled by "The Little Giant" (P&LE) A-2a Berk (by MTH).

Also thanks to Harm at Andrews Shopping Center (the toy train shop in Warren,OH) for quickly processing and shipping this order.  Great to work with and accommodating to my shipping needs.

Ron
