This came up well before Thanksgiving.

I guess we all miss a thread or two!!

Isn't that what the Search Feature is for?

I put it in the right section, give a guy a break already...
Catalog excitement may be starting to wane a bit, for reasons already discussed on this forum.

And the search engine is so very good!!!
I’m always excited for a new catalog release.

Actually for me it's the total opposite. I would like know about any future plans for future dcs support, but a lionel catalog coming out without the competing MTH catalog is kinda depressing. Even if I see something high end that I really like, it won't run with my preferred control system.
This will be the first catalog release since I decided to get back into the hobby so I'm extremely excited! Especially since a year's worth of having the bars closed has my savings account looking real healthy
...And what you order from it will be here in about a year from now! (if you're lucky!)
I'll admit I have never pre-ordered anything from the catalog. It just gives me and idea of what to expect in the resale market in a few years!!
I don't even look at the new catalogs anymore. I'll bet I am not alone in this. What do you guys think?
I like to look it's my wishlist😃
I look at the catalog, but not many pre-orders nowadays. I am waiting on a couple of the LC+ 2.0 0-6-0T locomotives, but that's it. Since those aren't BTO, it's not a chiseled in stone commitment, if they're a bust, I'll be leaving them at the store! They will go on the track for a function test before I leave!

Who knows? You may not be alone, but on the Forum at least you are in a distinct minority. The arrival of the new Lionel catalog gets quite a buzz here every year with pages of follow up posts on "what will you order?" Lionel has their issues (pick a topic) but that doesn't stop the new catalog release from being a notable occasion here.
So, yeah, I'll bet the vast majority "look" at the catalogs.
I will qualify my statement about not looking at the new catalogs by saying that I have been priced out of the market for new trains and the BTO items especially. My tastes are simpler, anyway, and I'm not spending $100 on one flatcar with trailer or cars with sound effects. I am satisfied with holding tight and plucking some of the really nice (used) items that have been produced by all of the O scale manufacturers in the past 15-20 years. Those deals suit me much better. And the items purchased on this forum have been extremely satisfying.
You guys who ARE buying the new items as they come out are keeping the hobby alive and for that I thank you.
I considered skipping the catalog because of all the flack Lionel seems to catch. But then I decided it best to see what the deal is for myself.
Darn, I thought the question was "Will there be a York this spring?"
Or, "Have you seen THIS???" (the Miniatur Wunderland)
I thought the question was going to be, Will there be a Trainstock this year?
