The other night, I posted my Christmas train set up for this year with all the other incredible holiday layouts. I mentioned that, with three Christmas trees in this house, six loops of track (three under one tree, one each around the other two, and a loop around a table) and two trolleys, things may have gotten out of hand for me.

Today, I was visiting with my nephew and told him about the J&B Scotch Christmas-themed TOFC I own that, because of its weight, I seldom run. Then I began thinking about many of the other Christmas cars that either didn't make the rotation this year or just aren't conducive to my current Christmas loops. So, since my train room is also now serving as my wife's home office and is currently a mess, I decided to dig out some of those unused Christmas cars and give them some miles on the Carpet Central.

The video is crap, but watching these cars run again reminds me why I love them and how much I enjoy Christmas trains. Throw in the fact that I still have 4-5 that I didn't get out (in addition to what's under the trees) plus 3-4 extras I need to sell, and I also think I may have a bit of a Christmas train hoarding problem…

Merry Christmas y'all!

Every year my Christmas layout got bigger and bigger and had more rolling stock.

More cars needed a Bigger Engine, can’t have just Diesel need a Locomotive too, now need Bigger transformer which can handle accessories....you get the idea

Then I realized how much I truly loved the trains and kept putting off taking the tree and train away, once til May.

I now have my permanent layout, the second I have built.

And I give thanks that I have this wonderful hobby at this time.
