The forum's own Marty Fitzhenry is an MTH-trained, as well as a Lionel-trained tech who has done literally hundreds of PS2 upgrades. Others may be as good, however, I assure you that no one is better!

Eric Hofberg, also a Forum member did a super job for me, upgrading my K-line Crusader to PS 2 at a reasonable cost. His email is bgsteam@comcast.net.

Have you considered doing one yourself?  I hesitated for a long time as I'm totally not electronic-oriented and then took the plunge.

Actually was able to upgrade the MTH scale GG1 and get it to load and run the first time!

Ordered some more upgrade kits and going to tackle a Coal Turbine and a couple of ABA sets.

It was actually fun and a great feeling of accomplishment to actually get it to work.

Not sure about doing a steamer however; looks like a lot of problems.  I'd send those to Marty or someone experienced in having done a lot of them.
