Nice catch!
I miss the big blue engines.
Excellent work!
Wow, Conrail isn't even an antique yet and there's a heritage unit about.....LOL
Thanks for all of the kind words! If you look closely at the second image, you can see a car almost being hit!
Max, my wife and I seen this same engine (8098) go thru Cresson PA on Saturday night around 7:30pm.
It was mixed in with a bunch of NS power only heading west on track 2.
The train came on so quick we did not have time to get a shot of the consist with 8098 as it went by.
Also that same night the NS 911 Engine headed a train of Auto Carrier cars.
Again listening to the scanner I knew this train was stopped on track 1 right in Cresson, but the engine number 911 just never clicked for some reason in my head.
Any way when they where given the green signal to head east it was to late to get a good shot due to the lighting in the area.
There is two for me that got away !!!!!!
Nice photo's !!!!!!
to those of us that had actively railfan conrail in the 1970-80-90's, it was "big blue".....um...not "baby blue".......
That's not Conrail heritage! Just a former Conrail locomotive which has yet to be repainted.

If you go by the order that the pictures were posted, the train was backing up.
