to start the story! yesterday I decided to take a ERR railsounds board out of a old a/c fa and moved it to a Williams f3 and remounted the cruise commander to a different spot and hooked up the sound put it on the track and everything worked as expected took a total of about 15 minutes to swap it over. but some how in the rearranging everything the engine runs better than it ever has before. smooth slow or fast very happy with it now. it is the first a unit fs of a abba yellow bonnet Santa Fe, so if anyone knows it's now probably my favorite engine. but it being the only powered engine it's alittle under powered so I was going to do the unpowered upgrade and another cruise commander and sound commander in the other a unit. so while poking around I thought hey why not put smoke in it also. so to the lionel site I went found the older f3's that had fan driven smoke units and bought it and the funnel but since I am ordering from lionel might as well get some other replacement parts I have needed so new snow plow for the sd40t-2 #4004 new smoke unit for the #8049 sd 90 and funnel new speaker for my sd90 #8048 and then figured I have a tmcc alco PA-1 #2000 has no smoke either so ordered a smoke unit for it too and it's funnel. well $130.00 later I have still yet to order the upgrade for the f3 or the cruise commanders/sound commander. so off to err's site I have a new but conventional sd40t-2 up #? that I would like to have command equipped so cruise commander for it . and sounds for the sd's then thought. well I have another union pacific steam engine that is conventional that I would like on the layout so cruise commander lite for it and railsounds steam kit. still haven't gotton to the f3 and well with all of that I was going to upgrade one engine ended up fixing 3 upgrading hopefully 2 and converting 2. budget gone for f3 upgrade maybe next month LOL funny how things work when you go to order parts.

that should keep me very busy for awhile.
some questions I should have asked before hand the pa-1 it never came with smoke in the one I have but another one did part number from my engine is 6-18952 the smoke unit and funnel I got came from 6-14572 both being Lionel TMCC PA-1's I would think it would work right?
and the Williams f3 I got the 6308031200 smoke unit and 6104566201funnel both came from the 6-24523 F3 hopefully it will work too. thoughts? photos are of all the engines I will be upgrading hopefully
