Icing Station Platform

There are/were several kits for them, including one, l think, on the bay now.  I built one kit that is common...a recent issue of an O scale magazine ran a construction article....there is lot out there.

I used two of the Atlas kits to build mine, it came out OK. You should be able to find this on line, or at many of the hobby shops that carry Atlas products. It is pretty simple to modify.

Nice work! I have the Atlas kit and it's been packed away for years. Now that I have the space for a large layout it'll be coming out and get built. I like your background structures as well. Looks sharp.

Unfortunately, the Atlas O kits are no longer available. Atlas says they no longer have the molds and have no plans to reissue. A few show up on eBay from time to time, but have gotten rather expensive (most over $100).

I have not been able to find any other kits in O scale. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am currently considering scratch building an extension to the one Atlas O kit I have. Any suggestions about materials? I’m considering wood and styrene.

There is another vendor of an icing platform and store house. See; Twin Whistle Icing station and platform. Looks like a nice kit. I've built a few of Twin Whistle's other kits and I like them. Check them out.

I can't find my bashed Suncoast Models icing platform, hard to lose, given its size, but these were common on the Bay, which is why l have another kit in the box l did find.  The platform can be lengthened with stripwood, and bent around a curve as l saw one prototype photo.  I bashed and moved the icehouse. 

I have a Suncoast platform also for my layout. It is a beautiful kit to build but I doubt I would ever build it to ship without heavy modification or I don't think it would last 10 minutes in shipping.
I did build a Berkshire Valley Ice House kit with a plaster ice house and wood platform. The platform arrived safely but the hydro-cal building arrived in pieces.

Thanks for all the great advice. I’ve checked several suggestions and will have to decide which one to pursue. Definitely some interesting options that I wasn’t aware of before.
