I found this cool print years ago in a gift shop in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It was mixed in with other prints that were from the area, but it has nothing at all to identify it:
Clearly the loco is a Class B Climax, I'm guessing 42" gauge from the size of the trucks relative to the rest, and other photos I've seen. See http://www.climaxlocomotives.c...med/gauge/?G=42%20in It was a common type in the East, but some went out West as well. They were used at Irish Creek Railway, a 42" logging operation in the Blue Ridge, but that outfit logged chestnut and other hardwoods, and the tall trees in the background look like pine, so I'm stumped. Any guesses?
