I have a raised track line and I'm looking for scenic ideas to put under the track to hide the open area. Attached is a video. For point of reference, the left side is going to be mountains where I run my mining and logging operations. The incline in the middle is an issue and I'm looking for ideas. The right side will be a farm above with a small industrial area below or city. The left side lower track will be either industrial or city. Just haven't made up my mind yet which side is what. I'm thinking of using ceiling tiles to build up but it would take forever. I thought about expanding foam and then scruff it up. I still need a yard so that I can park trains and go from upper to lower track. I decided that I needed to do scenery before doing that part. I'm rambling but I'd luv to see what others have done for scenic views under raised track. Thanks, jeff

I will be going with a combination of stone block retaining wall from Scenic Express and a rock face wall, such as the ones from Cripple Bush Valley Models.
These won't be all in a row, but rather in separate places on the layout, depending on what else is going on in the scene.
Nothing I'm doing is set in stone (so to speak), so I'm also interested in seeing others' ideas.

In my case, a wall in a rural area wouldn't look right. Cliff edge or mountain would.
Attached photos show an inexpensive vertical cliff/tunnel that I put together for my permanent Christmas layout ("snow" is optional).
The process is basically: styrofoam/plaster cloth/rock molds/sculptamold/carving/paint with acrylic washes.
'Hope this option is helpful.

Very nice Pete. I did a ceiling tile wall before. It's a little easier than plaster and not as messy. Will be easier to do a rise also. Jeff
What size ceiling tiles do you use? I used the cheap and hard 1' square. They took a while. Looking online I saw 2'x4' which is track ceiling tiles. Are those sizes doable?? Jeff
Mix it up like Avanti said. You've got a lot to cover some rock cuts like the ceiling tile one or foam and some retaining wall, you could use fancy wall tile available at the home improvement stores. There are several styles that are made up of smaller stones that look like a good retaining wall.
