Can anyone identify the manufacturer and approximate vintage of these arch bar trucks?

I agree,Lobaugh. The bolsters are definitely Lobaugh. I have seen other style trucks from them, and they have identical bolsters.

Thanks for the replies. They did come with my Lobaugh J&L tank car kit. The package had been opened and marked in ink "No 3 SP cab". I penciled in "Lobaugh?" because I didn't know. I thought them too crude to use for the kit and did not use them. The bolsters weren't changed, so they could be mounted if the car ever finds its way to a purist. I'll keep them in the box; they'll go with the car when it goes.

Oh, that is an excellent idea. In my opinion, that will double the value of your car in the future. I regard cut-up Lobaugh frames as completely negating any antique value of a Lobaugh model, and at least half have been cut for Kadees and sprung trucks.
Would archbars be prototypical for a heavy duty use J&L tank car, although maybe they didn't get onto mainlines?
