If I Had Disposable Millions....

Indeed!  I'd love to here a Y6a or b on the Blue Ridge....oooooo can you hear it?....I can.

I'd buy the East Broad Top.  I would then rehabilitate the line from Orbisonia to Mount Union and reopen and have trains running the entire distance. 

About 15-20 years of that and I reckon my disposable millions will have become disposable thousands.

What has Rich said before.  To make Millions running a steam locomotive start with Billions!  or something like that.  

Mine is simple. Buy two nice short domes, restore them and donate them to the

Western Maryland Scenic. Then have as many of the trees that block the view of the train for photographers and from the train for the paying passengers. That is after I bought every one of my kids a new home of their choice. And I know a few deserving folks who could use a little help.

More than a shame - a historic injustice with a basis in shortsightedness, mismanagement, and perhaps plain old greed! 

 

The difference in scrap value for ONE engine would NOT have solved the NYC's serious financial problems! 

Guys, In this bear market, unfortunately, even disposable millions wouldn't satisfy me for long! However, building it into disposable billions would really make a mark ala BNSF that would do. Or a la Walt Disney with his steam trains going around the lower 48( visiting each one) Now that would be something wouldn't it! In the winter, I'd even run a Special North Pole Central to bring a little Christmas magic to all the boys and girls! How's that for dreaming! Mike Maurice

The problem in the case of the NYCS Hudson is correctly noted...but it was the fan base who had it....a lot worse than the Central management !
