What do you think would happen? Any ideas for excursions with engines involved?

But the Norfolk Southern RR DID end their "steam program", so why bother beating a dead horse?
And by the way, the NS just ended it AGAIN, i.e. no more steam excursions, even under Amtrak!

Hadn't heard that second part Jack, but sad to hear if it's true. Just another case of enjoy it while you can because these things don't last forever.

Very true. As a general statement, postings on the Real Trains Forum, will normally be VERY informative and FACTUAL. However, such has NOT been the case with this new poster. Maybe he is just a youngster having fun?
Unless I have missed something, I do not think anybody has gotten killed yet with a mainline steam program. These programs have been lucky, considering how stupid some people can be. Maybe the time has come for steam on the mainline to go the route of the circus train.
Plus I would bet NS traffic is up considering CSX.
