This one. Absolutely dependable scale Lionel Dreyfus which has been running on the layout since I bought it when they first came out. Wonderful multi-throated horn; nice chug-a-long; zip. Looks gooooooood.

Eddie, don't cheat. Pick one, pick one. Don
My first engine/s, there are two Sakai EB class electric locos, I have had for about 57 years, which my father bought. I will never part with them.
Dave, you back home safe and sound? Let's see a picture. Don
My one would be a Lionel 402 set that was given to me when my grandfather passed.
It was one out of his colection. when I was a year old my pic was taken with one of them. This pic has been hanging in our store for all these years. Then in 1999 my father took the same pic with my son HarryA.Henning 4th. and gave it to me that christmass. The reson that train means so much when i see it on the shelf it remindes me of my grandfather and father that have ment so much to me and mentors.
This is a tough one and it would have to be my Lionel Vision Hudson.
It is a tough call, but it would have to be my Lionel Vision NYC Hudson! Bo

No Don, still stuck in Orlando Florida. All my forward bookings and plans to Europe and the UK are trashed due to the utter incompetence of Singapore Airlines. Their so called "US booking office" is in fact an Indian call center. I could have been on a Lufthansa flight out of here yesterday direct to Frankfurt, (they are a partner airline), but these idiots refused to do it, saying there was nothing wrong in NY, and my booking out of JFK stood. The result is, they rebooked me on a flight out of JFK on the 5th, despite my original flight being re-instated. I'm just heading home direct now, my visit to the UK to see family and friends was to be my last.

I'm sorry to hear this Dave. Does this mean you won't be coming to Holland now either? I was looking forward to meeting you.
Has anyone's choices changed from the last 2 times this was asked?

Mine hasn't, because my 3rd Rail E7 hasn't arrived, yet. The RK Imperial is still my favorite of the engines I currently have.
The one engine I would like to have is the 3rd Rail N&W "K2a", but that's 2X more than what the E7 costs. That's a lotta dough for something I don't have to have. Now if someone came out with a genuine Seaboard streamlined Pacific I might change my mind:
If for some reason (financial, space, smaller layout, moving, etc) you could only keep one engine. Which one would stay?
I think at this moment it would be my scale Lionel NKP Berkshire.
How about you?
Gerry, you've seen that movie, Sophie's Choice did you?

Hi Nicole, that's correct, won't be coming to Europe at all, I was looking forward to meeting up with you too, it's a huge disappointment for me, and it all could have been avoided, but Singapore Airlines screwed up big time. They refused to help me, simply unbelievable. It's not as if I was on some el cheapo fare either, I had spent over $10000 on airfares.

I have and it is a powerful movie.
Thankfully our "choice" is only model train related.

Since my Christmas layout only allows Lionel postwar, it would have to be my 675 K4. Plus, I can count on it running for a long while. I'd hate to have to depend on a new engine as my only one.
I think a more telling question would be "What 5 would you keep, and why?".
K-Line's scale Lima-built Southern Mikado[numbers 6609,6611 on AGS].
My first train - Old #1110 Lionel Scout with its Baby Ruth boxcar, Lionel Gondola, Sunoco Tank car (stocking stuffer from my Grandmother), and caboose - That train has been part of my life since the beginning and if I can't take it with me then I'm not going.
