Now that was definitely illegal!
When I was a teenager everyone I know, including me, went through the BMT tunnel from Whitehall to Brooklyn hanging on the back of the old BMT standards. It was a rite of passage. No big deal.
It was stupid then as it is today, this includes the idiots who 'surfed' the roof of subway trains and such. All I can say is that is another person who should be up for a Darwin award if they get wiped out, for taking the stupid gene out of the gene pool.
Is this illegal?
Seriously, does anyone even have to ask the question?
A few 'train surfers' have died doing this.
Keep the rear windscreen wipers turned on...high speed (if variable). Problem (mostly) solved? ....and slope the upper surface of the anti-climber.
But, then, if the surfer has a death-wish.....?
Sure, sure.....let's prosecute. Let's give the barristers a payday over someone's stupidity. Taxpayers love to have their money go for these sorts of 'spankings'.
Again, you can't fix stupid.
Do we know for a fact that he wasn't a RR worker who just happened to be changing out the rear wipers and the train took off?
Kent in SD
This fool made my local news tonight...they said he was reported by a number of witnesses and arrested at the next station. As the saying goes, you can't fix stupid!!!
Good thing it wasn't raining............
Did anybody notice that the video was shot by a driver? Driving while taking a video isn't a good idea either. I know they drive on the other side of the road, but...
An experience you can remeber the rest of your life....which might be about 15 minutes.
My cousins daughters new husband died train surfing in New Zealand right after the wedding, & just before the reception. A very smart idiot.

You win Kent.
I was thinking about the window washing bums outside the Michgan Central.
"Gimmie a dollar, I'll clean your windows, please, please, I know you got some change in there, just gimmie that"
My buddy had a van with a snapped washer sprayer that shot forward like a squirt gun. It became a sport for him if "no thanks" didn't work.
They must have done pretty well actually, few ever took the lunch sandwhich when offered.
What do I think? I think both individuals are exercising very bad judgment and a lack of the personal restraint that must be applied if one is to live a decent, respectable, life. When a person subordinates the greater good of society by behavior that makes himself the center of an imaginary universe, the risks are high and the benefits low or nonexistent. That's what I think.
That is much much higher on the stupid scale than it is on the illegal scale. Got hit with trespassing, big deal, its not liek he was pulling thrill seeker liquor store holdups or mugging little ol ladies for the SS checks
