I received my Luxo illuminated magnifier today...wow! This thing is awesome for close up work. I should have purchased one of these things years ago. If any of you are contemplating getting an illuminated magnifier, don't wait, get it and enjoy.

Pictures ? or where to get it would help ?
Pics will come this evening.
I have one of those headsets that have the magnifying lenses. They are really quite powerful. They help a great deal when trying to fish wire ends into those tiny holes in the solder tabs, on the back of miniature toggle switches. Before I was 40, I was able to do anything with the naked eye !!!

Since Luxo offers such a wide variety I hope you will include which model along with the photo.

Will do. Pictures will come when I get home after sending the day with my teenage clumps of clay. I try daily to mold them into intelligent humans.
I've changed from the full Luxo headgear to a lighter weight option, several cheater reading glasses of different magnifications along with an LED head light. Cost less than $5 for each pair of cheaters & approx $20 for a good head light.

Looks like a very high-quality item. I've had a Luxo draftsman's lamp on my desk at home for about 30 years and it's still good as new. However, Luxo products have gotten pricey. I looked up Luxo on Amazon and the magnifying lamps run $150 and up. In my shop I use a similar lamp of lesser quality but still serviceable that I picked up at the local electronics store for about a third of that.
Interestingly, Luxo is now making LED magnifier lamps. This would be nice to have as it would make the light head lighter and brighter than the usual circular fluorescent. Maybe one of these days I will spring for a new Luxo...
Thanks for posting the pictures.
I was telling my Eye Doctor about having trouble seeing while working on my models. After a 3 hour low vision exam at the Boston VA they decided I needed a Luxo lamp and new glasses. It certainly does help, I don't know how I did without it. So all you Vets out there check it out.
I've been using this cheaper style for 2 years now.

Well, it came down to a Dazor or a Luxo. I searched ebay for a couple of weeks. I missed a Dazor, but on Super Bowl night I won the bid on the Luxo. Heck I paid $40.00 plus shipping for it. All I had to do was buy a bulb when it came in. It is awesome! The only regret...I should have bought on years ago.
If you go to York The is a tool guy there and he sells them. Got mine there a few years back and it comes in handy
I have an antique Luxo with the large round glass. It works OK, but after a couple years the lamp stopped staying in position when I move it close to the bench. I ended up taking out the adjustment thumbscrew and replacing it with proper nut so I could increase tension on the arm to keep it where I put it.
