Obviously, NS personnel must coordinate with the various operators of the excursions to make train movements possible for an acceptable excursion schedule.

Does NS supply personnel for the operations of the excursions themselves?

Does NS provide financial support to the organizations that operate the excursions?

Does NS supply marketing support to the operators of the excursions?

Does NS supply rolling stock (e.g. passenger cars and/or support cars) or equipment for the excursions?

Does NS supply support services to the operation of the train movements necessary for the excursions?

I'm sure there are other questions that could/should be asked.  I'm just trying to understand the NS relationship to the 21st Century Steam Program since it is so obviously NOT in in-house operation as it once was in the Graham Claytor era.

Does NS provide financial support to the organizations that operate the excursions? NS certainly was most generous in the restoration of the 611.

Does NS supply marketing support to the operators of the excursions? Right on the NS website, so I'd say "yes".

Does NS supply rolling stock (e.g. passenger cars and/or support cars) or equipment for the excursions? Many of the cars are carrying Norfolk Southern. I believe those cars are NS property and are part of their Executive Train.
