My wife was saving the twist off caps from a squeeze pouch dog food and while looking at a pile of them it dawned on me these look acceptable for large industrial roof vent fans. There about four scale feet in diameter. I inserted a 3/4” long piece of 3/8” styrene tube to lift them up a bit and painted them with Rustoleum Metallic Aluminum. I don’t remember the specific name of the dog food but I used to get them at Walmart for like a buck per tube in the dog food isle.  There were two different caps and I included a couple unpainted samples for reference. They’re more likely for a modern industry, but you can use to your delight!

A few more roof details . ...though not really used to their full potential. I just plopped them down.

The inverted cone is rubber from a pistol grip grarden hose sprayer. It is dead on to a roof drain strainer; on the large size for the flange width at 1/2", but the cage section is right.    They are usually recessed more, nearly flush to the roof, but not always. The raised ones hold a puddle. Thinning the base and adding metal tone to it would do the trick.

I installed far more "mushrooms" than " lamp shades", but I like those. It depends on what you vent. Lamp shades are usually high on high temp or more "noxious" stacks where fast diasdiassapation is highly desirable. Low to the roof you tend to see more mushrooms.

My black "toadstool" there is just a common wood drawer pull. "Button mushroom" is out there too.

The seedling flower basket bottom as fan guards sit on a Tyco billboard/whistle box. The guards could be trimmed more on the legs and painted to match the Tyco box. In an appliance enamel look it would be better.; box looks very much like an HVAC unit. Some thin plastic panels for/and/or etching lines for doors/panels would help if you wanted more detail. (They work nice on half wave from 1diode on ac.)  One guard can also be trimmed of all legs and a few radial blades, then painted silver for the fan blade set, and capped by the guard.
