You don't tell us the road name or box description, my guess is it is part of the

6-24574 Union Pacific set from around 2005/2006 era. Do you have both units? It is an A-A set

I have the NYC version. Here is the link to the Lionel product description.

I remember these where heavily criticized for the wrong pilots. For some reason Lionel put the E-6 pilots on them and w/o a front coupler.

So How do they sound?

I have the UP B unit but the UP AA units keep eluding me.

The rare version is the Pennsylvania E-7 's in Legacy.

The UP and NYC versions were TMCC. in 2006 vol 2 catalog. The B&O and Prr Versions were Legacy and were in the 2007 vol 2 catalog. There were powered Bs unpowered Bs and Breakdown Bs . The criticisms of these locomotives were mainly with details including the pilot style, windshield wipers, rake of the nose and with a lot of discussion, the height of the body over the trucks. I believe the NYC bersion was almost Black and light grey , more like the freight colors which would be incorrect. l
