I was referred to this company by forum member scratchbuiler1-48.  I love their products.  They make sound modules to place around the layout.   I have another thread going that has the bridge and highway crossing sounds with their 4 inch 8 ohm speaker.   They are very affordable.  I just received 5 more modules today after ordering them Wednesday night so their service is awesome.  The modules run on AC or DC , can be connected to loop the sounds or play once and have a volume adjustment.  We plan to have sound behind our waterfall, city traffic sounds in the city, fire trucks by a fire and also some shop sounds by some maintenance buildings.  If you haven't given them a look I highly recommend them

By the way, George at ITT is VERY responsive and accommodating regarding custom/personalized sounds.  I built the Sylvan O scale tugboat ("Scuphee") and it had lots of room inside for a speaker and module.  George customized a chip with seagulls, sloshing water, small engine burbling away, on occasional single-chime toot whistle...which I had selected from an actual whistle manufacturer's website!...all at no additional charge!!!

A friend with an HO layout had George customize a chip for a hobo stationary campsite.  It features a derelict boxcar with a hobo inside.  Closing the door activates the sound which has a chap complaining to his friends...all by name, his railroading friends!!  He has other modules scattered about.

If you script a 30-second scenario, George will create a chip for you...and, from my experience, will have a sample sound track back to you by email for approval within a couple days!!

Another one of the great guys of this great hobby!!!

And don't miss sampling the 'Romantic Interlude' on his website!!
