I recently acquired a Pride Lines 250-E Hiawatha loco; eccentric cranks were broken, but all rods are intact. I just received the replacement cranks and rivets (thank you, MTH Parts!!) and I'm wondering how best to install the rivets to the new cranks.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

John

Obviously they’re gonna have to be peened some kind of way, ……probably the best thing to do is to take some close up pics of the parts, and then maybe we can offer a home remedy if you’re looking to make this a DIY project, ….if the ornate side of the rivet needs to stay perfect, a small block of hard wood can be used to peen against.  riveting tools are handy, but not everyone has the need to buy a set,….

Well  having done a few crank rivets get the right tools,   A jewelers ballpein , or tack hammer and small anvil ,  put the piece together with the rivet , add a half a drop of lube on flip it over and with multiple light taps form your rivet head  (small light taps)  work over a kitchen towel or on a cookie sheet, just in case , Remember a small hammer!
