OK George; to hook them up to a 153C;

Orientation of the signal is on the RH side of the track, train movement toward the signal.

Post #1 on the pressure trip (153C) goes to the post on the signal NEAREST the track. The center post on the signal is wired to a transformer source of voltage around 12 to 14volts.

Post #2 on the pressure trip goes to the post on the signal FURTHEST from the track.

Post #3 on the pressure trip is the other connection that goes to the transformer voltage to complete the circuit to light the signal.

When I mention a "Post" on the pressure trip, these are actually "Fahnstock" clips. The "Post" on the signal is actually a knurled screw-on round nut.

In electrical terms, clip #1 on the pressure trip is the "Normally closed" circuit which typically goes to light the green bulb. Clip #2 on the pressure trip is either the positive or negative side of the transformer power to the circuit. Clip #3 is the "Normally open" side of the trip which typically would go the the red bulb in the signal.

George: To help you further, we need to know how you plan to activate them; i.e. are you planning on using a 153C pressure trip device or do you plan on using an insulated rail scheme with a relay?

Good Morning,

I will be using an isolated track, instead of a pressure plate.  I believe it would need less attention.

Thanks,

John
