Thank you, Jim. I've previously read that document which seems to me just descriptive except for the programming information. But, I don't see any specific instructions as to how to install the 3/2 board, how to install the heatsink and use the white thermal grease, etc. ???
I know you said a diesel, but look at the steam upgrade kit since it is using the stacker board. Page 12
Thanks, Jim. I'll give it a tryl
If you never done this before look at a PS-2 3V upgrade instruction for the basics. But I assume you are replacing a bad PS-2 3V or 5V board? Get the correct stacker with connectors for the type. Load the correct PS-32 flash code for diesel with the type of smoke you have. Large or small. Then replace your old board. You need to remove battery and harness not used. Replace speaker with 4 ohm.
Fit board with heat sink into engine. Stacker is larger. G
I upgraded a S2 diesel with a stacker kit. Make sure you order the new heat sink bracket kit. If you don't have a TIU to program the boards, MTH can do it when you place the order (for an additional fee).
In mine, I had to extend the power pick up and motor wires, but everything else was plug and play. I didn't put a smoke unit in since I don't run smoke. I'm sure that would have complicated things.
It's tight but everything fit under the shell. Sorry but I didn't take a photo of the wiring all bundled.
