As some of you are aware I've offered basically 2 different train sheds over the last 2-3 years, one rather large size (2 foot x 4 foot) and one smaller unit (16 inch by 24 inch). Ive been pondering for the last 6 months as to releasing a third member to the family. This new member is about 16 x 29 inches however is much more decorative than the other sizes. It encompases many many arched beams and includes a layered design throughtout. Several OGR Forum members have assisted me during its design cycle. The unit is all designed and is itching for a prototype, however i'm not really sure there is a continued market. I need feedback to everyones thoughts. See several different views below- this represents 4 sheds mounted end to end.

Jim: all your products look great and I for one, am glad you have taken up the task of producing passenger stations/sheds in the "old school" look.

As for this product, I think any added detail is a good thing as the O gauge hobby continues to swing to the scale side, but what is the cost of the added detail (compared to the other options)?

Keep up the great work.

Hi Charlie, thanks for your input and questions.

The actual Cost will be determined once we get a prototype made, however my goal is to keep it within the same relative pricing as the existing 24 inch shed. Yes there are more parts to this new shed, however we are looking at several cost cutting ideas to keep overall cost to a minimum.

Hello Jim,

I think your new shed looks great!  I would be very interested in this version.  I am currently working on the passenger station location on my layout.  I have designed it to accommodate 2 of your 16" x 24" sheds.  I have installed a Ross 4 Way with two 2 reg switches to feed 6 storage tracks into the shed.  The shed sits parallel to the main line, which serves as the 7th track feeding the shed.  This track runs under the passenger overhang.

Would it be possible to cut off or not install the passenger overhang on the new 29" version?  Would the overhang be approximately the same width as the overhang on the 24" version (2.75"....I think)?  I would have room for it if it had only one overhang and it were 26.25".  Do you have a dimensional schematic similar to those posted on your web page for the other two version available?  I would really like to make this version work.

thank you

Hi.
It may be possible to cut off one side offerhang, not sure how it would look though. Send me an email and we can discuss further and i will put together a dimensional drawing for you at the same time.

thanks.
